Oil or Not?

The cutter can be used with or without oil. This decision comes down to personal preference, but the majority of people don't bother. Oil lubricates the wheel which can help it to roll more freely, helping to create a consistent score line. The wheel is also likely to last longer when using oil. However it can be a bit messy and if you're using it to create a project for use in one of our microwave kilns, you must thoroughly remove any traces of oil before firing.
